Audi Nuvolari: the most powerful supercar in the history of the four rings (and it has a Lamborghini engine)
Heir to the R8 boasts a Lamborghini Temerario 1,000-horsepower plug-in V8. 499 examples, deliveries in 2027
Audi unveils the ideal heir to the R8. It is called the Nuvolari and is a new 987 hp V8 hybrid supercar. Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo hybrid engine combined with three electric motors. It will be produced in a limited edition of only 499 units starting in 2027 and will also be the first car to go into production with Audi's new design language anticipated by the Concept C and the work of Massimo Frascella.
Destined to become the flagship of the new Audi range both in terms of price and applied technology, like the two previous generations of the R8 that shared the technical underpinnings of the Lamboorghini Gallardo and Huracan, the Nuvolari uses the same technology as the latest Sant'Agata supercar.
In fact, the powertrain derived from the Lamborghini Temerario, combines a twin-turbocharged 4.0 V8 with three electric motors, for a total output of 1,001 hp. Two units work on the front end, one at each wheel, while the third motor is positioned between the heat engine and the transmission. The lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 7.3 kWh.
The supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of over 350 km/h. The car was developed in around 14 months after being given the green light in March 2025 with the aim of being unveiled in Audi's first F1 season
The project also marks Audi's first direct technology transfer from Formula 1 to series production, with solutions on active aerodynamics, energy management, brakes and driving dynamics also developed from motorsport experience.
