A strategic agreement that represents much more than a simple collaboration between two companies and is part of a supply chain and system vision, bringing together different skills and specialisations to make the Italian automotive sector more competitive. The partnership between Sabelt - a company that designs and manufactures seats and safety belts for the automotive industry - and Italdesign, a company specialising in design and pre-series vehicle development and services, is part of a growing productive and commercial synergy between the many automotive companies in Piedmont, just a few days after the signing of the memorandum of association of the Vehicle Valley Association, set up precisely to stimulate this type of collaboration.

The two companies have signed an agreement to develop an innovative seat system designed for the cars of the future, with an important focus on sustainable materials and production processes.

The project will be entirely developed on the territory and is proposed as a model of product quality representative of Made in Italy excellence at international level. The collaboration will extend until April 2027, involving cross-functional teams from both realities, to foster the exchange of skills and information.

"Partnerships like this are the natural meeting of excellence with different skills that share the same territory and field of origin," said Giorgio Marsiaj, president of Sabelt. "The DNA of both companies was forged in the automotive industry and we are custodians of skills and knowledge that are difficult to replicate in the rest of the world. We are proud to work as a system with other prestigious companies like Italdesign and to be together ambassadors of Made in Italy in the world". For Antonio Casu, CEO of Italdesign, "this agreement not only sanctions the partnership between Italdesign and Sabelt, but also demonstrates how the idea of joining the forces of Piedmontese companies operating in the automotive sector in a single association allows everyone to achieve objectives that would be difficult to achieve individually, enhancing the territory, bringing innovation, attracting new business projects and increasing our competitiveness".

The agreement is in fact the first concrete act of the purpose for which the Vehicle Valley was created, reads the note circulated by the companies following the signing: 'to unite the know-how and the high creative and design skills that Piedmont offers worldwide in the automotive and mobility sectors and to offer them in a synergic way, favouring the member companies in promoting their experience, knowledge and skills in a supportive and complete offer'.
