Bandecchi indicted for tax evasion. The accusation: unpaid taxes of 20 million
Three other people who held positions of responsibility in the company are also on trial
The mayor of Terni, Stefano Bandecchi, has been remanded for trial in Rome on charges of tax evasion. Bandecchi is accused of not having paid taxes amounting to around EUR 20 million as de facto administrator of the Unicusano telematic university. According to investigators, the sum was allegedly not paid between 2018 and 2022. In addition to Bandecchi, three other people who held positions of responsibility in the company are also on trial. The trial has been set for next 4 June before the monocratic court.
Bandecchi: no surprises
"No surprises, I expected that. Everything taken for granted, everything as expected'. This was said by Stefano Bandecchi after the decision of the preliminary hearing judge in Rome who remanded him for trial for a tax evasion of over 20 million euros. 'We hope to be able to prove our innocence in the trial,' he replied to reporters.
