MPS: Bank staff to receive more generous supplementary health and pension schemes and an €8 meal voucher
The bank headed by Luigi Lovaglio has reached an agreement with the trade unions on the renewal of the second-level collective agreement
Better healthcare and pensions, an 8-euro meal voucher, and more support for welfare and work-life balance. This is what is set out in the agreement reached by Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena with the trade unions (Fabi, Fisac, First, Uilca and Unisin) as part of the update to the second-level collective bargaining agreement.
Specifically, from 1 October, the value of the meal voucher will be increased to 8 euros for full-time staff and 6 euros for part-time staff. Alongside the increase in the meal voucher value, there will be a rise in the company’s contribution to the internal Supplementary Pension Schemes, which will be raised to 3.25 per cent from 1 January 2027, further strengthening the pension protection for Monte dei Paschi employees. Particular attention is also being paid to health and safety in the workplace. The agreement strengthens the mechanisms for consultation, expanding the remit of the Working Group on Environmental Sustainability, which will periodically monitor maintenance programmes and workplace improvements, facilitating constant monitoring of the progress of activities and the joint identification of any priorities.
The voluntary mobility management system is also being improved through the implementation of the company’s dedicated application for on-demand transfers, which will allow for greater transparency when viewing available opportunities.
The discussions are not yet concluded, but they leave open the whole issue of professional development, the organisation of work, the scheduling of specific activities and, more generally, the impact that the current business plan and the Group’s organisational restructuring will have on central functions and on staff working conditions.
