Banks: Panetta says there is no evidence of a credit crunch following consolidation

This was emphasised by the Governor of the Bank of Italia, Fabio Panetta. “We could not avoid the banking system becoming larger on average, but we must not do so at the expense of credit,” he added, stressing that this is “a very important issue” which Palazzo Koch will continue to monitor in the future.
