Girl killed in Barese, alleged killer detained: hypothesis of a fight between clans

This was stated to Ansa by Nicola Spadavecchia, owner of the club on the Molfetta coast road (Bari) where last night, during a brawl, a girl from Bari died after being shot and two other boys were injured. 'I was not on the dance floor, I was in my office,' the entrepreneur continues, 'this group came in and in no time all hell broke loose. Security intervened but it was too late for the 19-year-old girl'. Investigations and surveys by the carabinieri, who are coordinated by the Dda of Bari, are still ongoing at the scene and 'I still don't know if they will seize the club,' adds Spadavecchia.

"We are close to the family of the young woman who was killed, but we too are victims of these absurd acts of violence," he concludes.

The 19-year-old Antonia Lopez, who was shot dead in a fight at Bahia beach in Molfetta (Bari), was the niece of Ivan Lopez, who died in an ambush on the IX Maggio seafront in Bari, in the San Girolamo district, on 29 September 2021.

The crime was carried out - according to the prosecution - by men acting on behalf of the Capriati mafia clan of old Bari and the Parisi-Palermiti clan of the Japigia district, who were in conflict with the Strisciuglio clan that had dominance in San Paolo and San Girolamo. Also injured in yesterday's ambush was 20-year-old Eugenio Palermiti, an aspiring boss belonging to the Mafia family of the same name from Japigia.
