Byd has Volkswagen ID.3 in its sights by unveiling the new Ocean-M concept, an electric compact designed with the stylistic dictates of the Old Continent in mind, although there is currently no official information on its arrival on the European market, while in China it is planned for the end of 2024.
Sporty and edgy design
.The lines are those of a sports saloon, with the front characterised by slim headlights and two large air intakes giving it an aggressive look. At the side, the beltline is quite high while at the rear, the lights span the entire width of the car, just like cars designed and built in Europe. Also at the rear, the large diffuser in the lower part of the car stands out, as well as the pronounced wing designed to direct the air as well as possible.
Compact rear-wheel drive
.The Chinese company Byd has so far said little about the car, apart from the fact that it is intended to be developed on a new electric platform, possibly the Electronics 4.0 platform, and that they are targeting the car as the industry's first rear-wheel-drive electric hatchback. It is possible that the car will be one of the first to benefit from the new second-generation batteries.
The dimensions have not yet been disclosed but it is expected to be longer than the Dolphin and will challenge the German electric ID.3.
No other details of the car have been released at the moment and the price is expected to be between around 19,000 and 26,000 euros.
