Bernini: a bet on research from the manoeuvre
In a post, the university minister summarises the measures planned for researchers: from the Single Fund to stabilisation and simplification
The Research Planning Fund, the Extraordinary Plan for the Recruitment of Pnrr Researchers, funding for new technologies in the South, and simplifications: this is what the Manovra provides for scientific research, as the Minister for Universities and Research Anna Maria Bernini points out in a post on Instagram.
Investments
"Research is one of the main chapters of the Budget Law 2026," writes Bernini, who adds: "Concrete investments and a long-term vision with more than 1.5 billion euro for the new Research Programming Fund, 60 million for an extraordinary Plan for the recruitment and valorisation of Pnrr researchers, 56.4 million for the development of new technologies in Southern Italy, together with simplifications for purchases and tenders."
Stability of funds
The minister also notes that 'research is finally becoming a structural priority, no longer a spot intervention', thanks to 'stable resources, certain programming, continuity in calls for tenders, enhancement of skills and less bureaucracy'. For the minister, this is a manoeuvre 'that recognises research as one of the pillars of Italy's development, competitiveness and growth'.
