The aim is to protect uncontaminated areas, sand and vegetation. For a dozen or so beaches in Sardinia, the closed number is starting, with restrictions, controls and precautions to be followed. In some cases, the measures started in mid-May, in some others, they start in July.

The Decalogue

In the decalogue of rules to be followed, there is a ban on smoking, a ban on playing ball, rackets, to continue with the obligation to use mats to be placed under the tarpaulins to avoid removing sand.

Access to beaches will not be the same for everyone. In each locality there are different regulations and modalities.

The South West

At Tuerredda, in the municipality of Teulada, access to the beach is restricted. Every day, 1,100 people can access the beach. Inside the beach smoking is prohibited except in authorised areas, and it is forbidden to remove sand, shells, pebbles. And plastic free, with a ban on bags, dishes and other non-biodegradable plastic material. As for the entrance, as stated on the tuerredda.spacli.it website, where the availability of places is indicated in real time, "it is only possible to book places for the equipped beach. For the public beach, only the order of arrival is respected'.

La Pelosa in Stintino

At Pelosa, in Stintino, access is by reservation. It can be made either through Qr code or through the spiaggiapelosa.it website. There are 1,500 places available on La Pelosa beach per day. Reservations for access to the beach can be made 'for 500 places at any time without time limits for the period from 15 May to 15 October 2025'. Not only that: 'for 1,000 places not earlier than 48 hours after the date of access to be booked'. In addition, children under the age of 12 do not have to make reservations.

"Some accommodation facilities in the Municipality of Stintino have a number of places available, in addition to those described above," reads the site, "Access control and therefore the need for QRCode access is from 8:00 to 18:00. The daily rate is euro 3.50 per person'.

The Eastern Slope

.

Similar situation at the La Rena Bianca beach in Santa Teresa Gallura, where access is free for residents. Restricted access, for 45 days, to the Piscine beach in Cannigione. It starts on 15 July. The same goes for Cala Coticchio and Cala Brigantina in La Maddalena. Then there are the beaches of Cala Brandichi and Lu Impostu in San Teodoro. Going down the east coast there are then the Biderosa Oasis in Orosei and Cala Luna in Baunei Dorgal. Further down the coast are the 'responsible entry' or 'eco-environmental' beaches of Cala Sisine, Cala Mariolu, Cala Brinda and Cala dei Gabbiani in the municipality of Baunei, as well as Cala Goloritzè. In south-eastern Sardinia in Villasimius, there is restricted access to Punta Molentis. In this case there are 1,500 places available 'as last year' . At Porto Sa Ruxi, also in the municipality of Villasimius, the places available are 450, in this case you pay for parking and not for access.

Between fake tickets and controls

.

On the net, meanwhile, a few scam attempts are beginning to appear with fake entrance tickets to beaches with restricted entry.

All summer long, checks are carried out on the beaches, not only for compliance with the rules but also to counter the thefts of sand, shells and pebbles that occur every year.
