BizAway, the benefit company that offers business travel at the click of a mouse
The company is ranked 11th in the Sole 24 Ore-Statista classification
BizAway's mission is simple: to provide a quick solution for booking and managing business trips with one click. Before founding the company more than ten years ago, CEO Luca Carlucci had worked as an employee in various companies. At the time, organising business trips was a real nightmare: 'On average, it took up to eight e-mails to finalise the transaction, with rates changing from one communication to the next,' he says. Thus was born the idea of BizAway, founded with partner Flavio Del Bianco in Spilimberto, Friuli Venezia-Giulia, and set up as a benefit company.
Over the past three years, the company has grown significantly, with revenues increasing from 8.1 million in 2021 to 116 million in 2024. An annual CAGR of 142.8%, which earned BizAway the eleventh position in the Sole 24 Ore-Statista Leader Growth 2026 ranking and the first place in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. A trend that shows no signs of slowing down: 'For next year we expect turnover to grow by more than 60%,' estimates Carlucci.
BizAway is halfway between a travel agency and a tech platform available via desktop and app. On the sustainability front, the company has been calculating the Co2 emissions generated by travel in real time since 2017 and also offers the possibility of offsetting them by planting trees. In 2021 BizAway achieved B-Corp certification, and in 2025 it was recertified with a score of 99.4: 'The highest in our field,' says Carlucci. It is difficult, according to the manager, to quantify the part of the turnover derived from the company's sustainable commitment, "but in an indirect way these are aspects that permeate the entire business. You could say that BizAway would not exist without the ESG soul'.
In 2024, an investment round enabled the company to raise EUR 35 million to finance further growth. Among the most significant innovations is an initial version of an Ia-based smart assistant, already in development for several months, to provide useful, contextual information to customers for their business trips; and the prospect of opening one or two new offices in the Benelux, and then potentially looking to the Nordic countries. The company is present in the Middle East with an office in Dubai and is considering expansion into Saudi Arabia. The workforce is growing rapidly: today there are 105 open positions to be filled, compared to the current 360 employees.
