Bmw Italy strong growth in September and 9 months 2025
Underlying the positive trend in sales and market share is the technology-neutral strategy initiated by the national subsidiary to meet customer needs.
Key points
Bmw Italia ended September with registrations of 7,499 units, up 0.7%. Based on 6,048 units of the Bmw brand and 1,451 units of Mini, up 0.7%. The positive trend continued for electric cars, which reached 613 units in September at Group level, of which 362 Bmw and 251 Mini, for a growth of 21.9%, while electrified cars rose by triple digits +192% to 1,384 units for the Bmw brand alone, as Mini does not include plug-ins. Finally, Bmw Motorrad sold 1,591 motorbikes, up 42%.
Growing against the market trend
.In the first nine months of 2025, 66,518 cars of the Bmw and Mini brands were registered, up 6.1% compared to the same period in 2024, with 55,325 Bmw (+3.5%) and 11,193 Mini (+20.8%), while the market declined by 3.3% and the premium segment by 1.3% in the same period. Sales of electric cars rose to 5,221 units (+42.5%), split between 3,569 by BMW (+16%) and 1,652 by Mini (+181%). Plug-in electrified cars also showed strong growth (+71.1%), with a group total of 8,098 units.
Premium market leadership is confirmed
.It should be noted that the BMW brand consolidated its leadership in the premium market in the first nine months of the year with a 29.9% share, up 1.4% over the same period last year. Turning to the motorbike sector, Bmw Motorrad, in a market that saw the over 500 cc segment contract sharply (-9.9%), was the leading brand in the premium market in both the over 500 cc and over 750 cc segments with 14,091 units sold from January to September, with the BMW R 1300 GS being the best-selling motorbike on the Italian market.
Technology neutrality at the heart of Bmw's offering
."The result achieved in the first nine months of the year,' explained Massimiliano Di Silvestre, president and CEO of Bmw Italia, 'is the result of a clear and solid strategy and great teamwork. Our choice to focus on technological neutrality is proving to be the one most capable of meeting the diverse needs of Italian customers, and with the recent presentation of the BMW iX3, the first car of the new generation of Neue Klasse electric models, we are also tracing the path of future mobility with over 40 new models in the next two years".
