Better than analysts' forecasts

.

The results were better than expected, particularly the cash outflow, which analysts had estimated at $4.5 billion. The Commercial Airplanes division's first-quarter revenue was $4.7 billion (-31%) and operating margin was -24.6%, mainly reflecting lower 737 deliveries. The division's loss for the period stood at $1.143 billion from $615 million in the same period of 2023. "During the quarter," a note said, "the 737 programme slowed production to below 38 per month to incorporate improvements to the quality management system. In addition, Commercial Airplanes is implementing an action plan to respond to FAA audit feedback on 737 production."
