Bonomi to head the EU Federation of Valves and Taps
‘To play a leading role in the political debate, we need to provide data and solutions’

Sandro Bonomi, former President of AVR – the Italian Association of Valve and Taps Manufacturers – has been appointed President of CEIR – Taps & Valves Europe, the European federation representing the taps and valves industry, which is worth over €11 billion
The appointment took place during the CEIR Congress 2026, scheduled to take place in Brussels from 8 to 10 June, a key event for the European sector that brings together institutions, associations, businesses and stakeholders from across the supply chain to discuss the main industrial and regulatory challenges.
With Bonomi’s election, CEIR is entering a new phase in its development, strengthening the Federation’s role not only as a technical authority for the sector, but also as a strategic partner in European political and industrial discourse.
“For over sixty years,” explains Bonomi, “CEIR has been recognised as a leading authority – often quiet but always influential. Today, however, the ecological, industrial and geopolitical changes we face require a shift in approach: technical excellence remains fundamental, but it is no longer enough on its own. We must take a leading role in the European debate, providing policy-makers with data, expertise and concrete solutions.”
