Bonus for household columns: one month after the launch of the dedicated platform, 5,319 applications for contributions were submitted, for a requested amount of EUR 6,312,490, more than 30% of the financial allocation of the measure, which amounts to EUR 20 million for 2024.

This was announced by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy. The digital portal for accessing the measure, which supports the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure by private individuals and apartment blocks, has been active since 8 July, the day it was opened by Invitalia, which manages the platform on behalf of the Minit. There are also 4,120 applications in compilation and 1,474 completed applications awaiting final submission.

The home wall box bonus is a contribution of 80 per cent of the purchase and installation price of infrastructure for recharging electrically-powered vehicles (e.g. wall boxes) made since 1 January 202.

The maximum limit of the contribution is 1,500 euros for private users and up to 8,000 euros in the case of installation on the common parts of condominium buildings. It will be possible to benefit from this facilitation until the allocated resources are exhausted, which this year are lower than in previous years: in 2022 and 2023 the fund amounted to EUR 40 million.

As far as public recharging infrastructures are concerned, on the other hand, the incentivisation process through Pnrr funds continues. Since the end of July, the web portal for submitting applications for the second announcement of the 'Installation of recharging infrastructures' measure has been active on the GSE website.

The goal is to support the construction of more than 18,000 electric vehicle charging stations on country roads and in urban centres by 2025: 7,500 super-fast charging stations on country roads and 10,880 in urban centres.

The financial resources made available by the calls for tenders amount to € 359,943,750 for suburban stations and € 279,344,000 for stations in urban centres.

In total, the resources of the NRP to incentivise recharging infrastructures amount to 713 million euro, so that, by 30 June 2026, 13,775 new recharging stations for urban roads and 7,500 for motorways will have been installed.

At the moment, less funds have been utilised than those made available, e.g. no contributions have been allocated in the extra-urban area (for which 150 million were planned) and in the urban area about 3 thousand columns have been awarded (out of 6,500). Italy currently has about 40 thousand recharging infrastructures installed, it is estimated that by 2030 there will be a total need of 110 thousand.
