We are considering these five stock exchanges because they are amongst the top ten in the world by market capitalisation (source: World Federation of Exchanges – WFE): Shanghai is in 3rd place (behind the NYSE and Nasdaq); Shenzhen (China) is in 5th place; Tokyo in 6th; Hong Kong in 7th and Mumbai in 9th. Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) is also in the top ten (in 10th place) and opens at 9.00 Italian time.
We monitor these indices, the main ones for each stock market: the Shanghai Composite, the Shenzhen SZSE Component, the Tokyo Nikkei 225, the Hong Kong Hang Seng, and the Mumbai Nifty 50. We include the Seoul index here because it is the most volatile and heavily influenced by technology stocks.
