Brembo started production of Sensify intelligent brakes

Brembo has announced the start of full-scale production of Sensify, the intelligent braking platform for a major global vehicle manufacturer. Sensify, which will be installed as standard on 100% of the vehicles in the programme, is a key step in the evolution of braking systems for vehicles with truly software-defined architectures. Designed as a scalable as well as adaptable solution, Sensify has been developed to support a wide range of architectures, from driver assistance systems to autonomous driving applications.

Sensify was created as a fluid-free architecture that distributes control to each wheel, eliminating hydraulic circuits and centralised actuation systems. The innovative approach also allows precise and continuous modulation of braking, ensuring stable and controlled behaviour in complex or variable driving conditions. Unlike many other technologies on the subject of electromechanical braking, Sensify is characterised by state-of-the-art hardware with adaptable software layers that integrate naturally into software-defined vehicles. In addition to starting production of Sensify, Brembo has signed further contracts. As the group expects to equip hundreds of thousands of vehicles per year, paving the way for the large-scale deployment of Sensify to reinforce Brembo's ambition to contribute to an accident-free future.
