Oil: Brent reverses course (-3 per cent); Qatar says there is a glimmer of hope for US-Iran talks
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The turnaround in oil prices, as explained in trading rooms, is linked to some possible glimmers of hope between the US and Iran. According to Qatari sources, as reported by various Israeli media outlets, Qatar and Pakistan have put forward a mediation proposal that takes into account the demands of both Washington and Tehran. The proposal, which has just been conveyed by the commander of the Pakistani army to Iranian officials, is said to have received the approval of the United States and the consent of Iran. Hence the sudden fall in oil prices, with Brent crude now down 2.8 per cent at $106.6 per barrel.
