A training course dedicated to the entire plumbing and heating supply chain and a landing in Sardinia for Brescia-based Gruppo Clerici, a leading distributor of plumbing and heating products, which acquired Mara, a local company with three sales outlets.
The training path is that of Clerici Lab, a project desired by the Clerici Group in partnership with the Centro Nazionale opere Salesiane-Formazione aggiornamento professionale (Cnos-Fap) to be able to create new generations of professionals thanks to what is intended to become a training incubator. Together with the Cnos-Fap Lombardy Region foundation, a Higher Technical Education and Training (Ifts) centre dedicated to logistics and thermo-hydraulics will be set up in Brescia at the Don Bosco Institute and the new Clerici Lab premises, designed to train high-level figures who will be involved in the technical-commercial management of the thermo-hydraulics sector. This post-diploma vocational course is open to all under-25 graduates resident in Lombardy and the course is entirely financed by the Region.
The courses will start in September with the first-level apprenticeship formula (Article 43) which provides for the employment of trainees and alternating training between work tasks and classroom training.
"Clerici Lab is a particularly ambitious project that took more than a year of study and preparation, through which we make available our know-how from almost 80 years of experience in the sector," says Paolo Clerici, president of Clerici. "At this time it is essential to intercept and guide young people at the end of their school career towards directions that meet the needs of companies in the entire sector. But that's not all: currently in Italy there is a strong need for skilled labour in specific sectors, such as the plumbing and heating sector. Faced with this need, it is crucial to invest in articulated training programmes that not only bridge the gap between the supply of companies and the available skills, but also stimulate the interest and motivation of young and old alike. The project is being developed throughout Italy. With the Cnos-Fap in Sesto San Giovanni, in the province of Milan, a path will be offered for the insertion of apprentices and trainees at Clerici's premises, reserved for young people attending the Cfp with a thermo-hydraulic address. A model that will be replicated in other regions.
A fortnight ago, the Clerici Group took over Mara, a historic brand present in Sardinia with three shops with showrooms, more than 50 employees, and a 2023 turnover of more than 30 million. "This is the first acquisition of a very significant year for us in terms of expansion," commented the chairman. Our nationwide growth project continues and we are ready to seize new opportunities also in the coming months." In 2023, Clerici recorded a turnover of 785 million with a net profit of 77 million.
