In an investigation by the Milan Gdf Economic and Financial Police Unit and Milan Public Prosecutor Paolo Storari, a house arrest order was issued against Oreste Liporace, commander of the Allievi Marescialli e Brigadieri regiment in Velletri until 2021 and currently director of the Istituto Alti Studi della Difesa.

The accusation is of corruption, bribery and false invoices on a contract worth almost 700 thousand euro for cleaning services in the barracks entrusted, until 2021, to the company Fabbro. According to the order issued by the gip Domenico Santoro, the general was allegedly bribed with 22 thousand euro, luxury bags, car rentals, and tickets for the Olympic stadium and La Scala in Milan.

The Carabinieri Corps has suspended Oreste Liporace, the general arrested today by the Guardia di Finanza, with immediate effect.

The public prosecutor's office is also investigating an alleged traffic of illicit influence in relation to the 'promise', not 'materialised', to 'obtain' for the Fabbro group's companies in 2022 'contracts within the Vatican', but also one managed by the Franciscan Friars. And on 'a three-year contract' in 2020 worth 15 million euro 'for the catering service at some offices of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers', 'actually obtained' by the Fabbro brothers' companies. It emerges from the order of the gip Santoro in the investigation of the Gdf and the Public Prosecutor Storari.

Lorenzo Quinzi, head of the department for general affairs and digitalisation at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, is also reportedly under investigation for disturbing the freedom of tenders.

Searches are also under way by the Milan Gdf Economic and Financial Police Unit against 22 people and offices of the Attorney General's Office, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Defence High Studies Centre, and the Interregional Superintendency for Public Works for Lazio, Abruzzo and Sardinia.
