Bricks and tiles, contract renewed: EUR 205 increase
Agreement affecting 18 thousand workers signed between Confindustria Ceramica and Feneal, Filca and Fillea
Renewed the labour contract of the 18 thousand workers in the brick sector who will have an increase over the three-year period of the agreement of 205 euros. Confindustria Ceramica (Brick and Mortar Group and Assobeton) has in fact signed with the trade unions, Feneal, Filca and Fillea the agreement that concluded the negotiations for the renewal of the contract for bricks and cement products that had expired on 30 September 2025.
The negotiations, which began last July, closed very quickly, just one month after the expiry of the contract, which was renewed without tension, despite the complex phase for companies facing a complex geopolitical situation and an energy cost that is still very penalising for those doing business in our country.
The solution identified by the parties provides for a contractual term of 36 months during which workers will receive an average increase of EUR 205 gross per month, distributed in four tranches: October 2025, July 2026, July 2027 and July 2028.
The agreement also provides for the strengthening of supplementary pension and supplementary health care for all.
The regulatory part has been reformed through several measures. Among others, the role of the National Observatory of the sector has been strengthened, as a forum for discussion on the main issues of interest to the sector, including, for example, energy efficiency and sustainability. The protocol dedicated to the prevention of violence against women, a particularly avant-garde element at the level of contract renewals, has also been strengthened. "It was not an easy negotiation, but one that nevertheless led to interesting results for our employer delegations," explained Confindustria Ceramica Director and Brickworks Group delegation leader Vincenzo Briziarelli. "Despite the effort made and the difficulties that our sector is going through, due above all to energy price increases, a shrinking market, and a shrinking market, we are satisfied with the decision to have recognised the workers' rights in the sector.
