BTPs: spread against the Bund opens slightly lower at 80 points, yield at 3.87 per cent

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - , - The spread between BTp and Bund opened slightly lower, having widened yesterday following the resurgence of the crisis between the US and Iran. At the start of trading, the yield spread between the benchmark 10-year BTp and the German Bund of the same maturity stood at 80 basis points, one basis point lower than yesterday’s closing level of 81 basis points. The yield on the benchmark 10-year BTp was also down, opening at 3.87 per cent, down from 3.90 per cent at yesterday’s close. The trend observed yesterday, whereby French government bond yields outperformed those of Italy, was confirmed at the opening, with the 10-year OAT yielding 3.89 per cent at the start of trading.
