BTPs: spread opens lower at 99 points; 10-year yield falls to 4.58 per cent
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The spread between BTp and Bund opened slightly lower following the surge to 100 basis points the previous day. At the start of trading, the yield spread between the benchmark 10-year BTp and the German bond of the same maturity stood at 99 basis points, down from 100 the previous day – a level that had taken it to its highest since May 2025. The yield on the benchmark 10-year BTp fell, opening at 4.58 per cent, down from 4.62 per cent at the close the previous day (a level not seen since October 2023). The yield on the German Bund also fell at the start of trading, settling at 3.59%, down from 3.63% the previous day, whilst the French 10-year OAT opened at 4.80%, down from 4.81% at yesterday’s close, remaining at its highest level in 18 years.
