BTPs: spread opens slightly lower at 110 points; 10-year yield falls to 4.53 per cent

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The spread between BTPs and Bunds has narrowed slightly. At the start of trading, the yield spread between the Italian 10-year benchmark bond, maturing on 1 July 2036, and the German bond of the same maturity stood at 110 basis points, one point lower than yesterday’s close of 111 points, when the spread had surged. The yield on the 10-year BTP also fell to 4.53 per cent, compared with 4.56 per cent at yesterday’s close.

Attention also remains focused on yields on French OATs, which are down slightly today to 4.90 per cent compared with yesterday’s level (4.92 per cent).
