BTS Group and AB are strengthening their partnership with a new agreement for the development and construction of ten biomethane plants. For BTS, this would mean an investment of around EUR 90 million. The collaboration between the Brunico (Bolzano) based operator, active in the construction and management of biogas and biomethane plants, and the Orzinuovi (Brescia) based company, which develops solutions in the fields of cogeneration, biofuels, biogas and biomethane, envisages the construction of new plants or the upgrading of existing sites (process that allows refining from biogas to biomethane), in Italy, for a total production capacity of 30 million cubic metres per year, as well as cooperation on potential further projects in the near future.
High-growth sector
."The growth of the BTS Group, which in addition to construction now also manages biomethane production plants in Italy and Europe through the newly founded BTS DevCo, finds in the collaboration with AB, for decades an international benchmark for technological quality as well as for the capillarity and professionalism of its service, the perfect combination in a sector that will undergo strong growth in the coming years," reads a note from the two operators, who have calculated that the biomethane production of the ten plants will allow an annual saving of about 63 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
"The path towards climate and energy sustainability also passes through the biomethane sector, which in Italy can count on international excellence, like us and like AB. BTS has chosen the best upgrading technology and the best service on the national and international market, that of AB, to be able to develop efficient and sustainable plants in the coming years from an energy, economic and environmental point of view,' commented Franco Lusuriello, CEO of BTS.
