Ethos Profumerie and Unibee, realities of the Italian beauty retail sector, are merging to create a new large Italian perfumery pole. The merger, which will be effective from September 2025, will lead to the formation of a group with an aggregate turnover of around EUR 300 million and a market value of EUR 550 million, which will represent around 30% of the sales outlets in the entire sector. The new entity will be present in all major Italian regions with a total of 500 points of sale and over 3,000 employees.
The transaction represents a decisive step towards the creation of an even more solid, competitive and innovation-oriented group, able to face the challenges of the market with a shared vision and an enhanced distribution force under a single banner. The new structure will make it possible to offer consumers an increasingly personalised, omnichannel and quality shopping experience, while strengthening the position of affiliated shops and industrial partners. With this in mind, particular attention will also be paid to environmental and social sustainability aspects, with programmes already underway for reducing environmental impact, energy efficiency and ongoing staff training.
'This union represents a historic moment for both groups,' says Maurizio Sabbioni, president of Ethos Profumerie. Together we will be able to face future challenges with greater strength, keeping the values that distinguish us at the centre: attention to the customer, passion for perfumery and a shared strategic vision". Alessandro Maiello, President of Unibee, adds that it is "a new model of collaboration that will give greater value to our members and partners. Innovation will be the driving force behind this new reality'.
The coming months will be bustling with activity "so that this agreement can materialise into the most important merger ever in our sector," explains Mara Zanotto, General Manager of Ethos Profumerie. We will represent around 30 per cent market share in terms of points of sale, and we will do so by proudly carrying forward the concept of the traditional Italian perfumery based on the work of our entrepreneurs and families". The confirmation also comes from Prospero Giuliano Cannella, General Manager of Unibee: "We will have a huge specific weight as a group and we are intent on making quality the fulcrum of our project. A targeted strategy that will guarantee the future our market and our members deserve.
