In the heart of Campania, between the Vallo di Diano and the Alburni, a project is being developed that unites the municipalities of Petina and Postiglione with the neighbouring villages of Atena Lucana, Monte San Giacomo, Sant'Arsenio, Polla, Sicignano degli Alburni, Serre, Controne and Palomonte. This region, famous for being one of the places of origin of the Mediterranean Diet, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve.
The project promotes sustainable tourism by improving accessibility and involving local businesses with cultural, naturalistic and food and wine events. Thematic and educational itineraries offer unique experiences to visitors, enhancing local history, art and traditions.
The objective is to transform the Vallo di Diano and Alburni into an international tourist destination, promoting economic development and social welfare, while preserving the natural and cultural heritage.
In response to the Scabec notice, the Campania Region's 'Alburni-Borghi della Salute e del Benessere' project aims specifically to revitalise the five villages of Postiglione, Serre, Controne Sicignano degli Alburni and Palomonte. The main objective is to promote food and wine, cultural events and guided tours, integrating environmental sustainability and improving accessibility.
Nature excursions, integrated management of accommodation facilities and the valorisation of local traditions enrich the tourist experience, enhancing the attractiveness of villages and promoting the region's cultural and natural heritage.
