Byd and Haier revolutionise electric mobility at Design Week 2026
The two brands are the creators of the installation at 26 Via Bergognone, where a real environment designed to demonstrate how technology can change our daily lives in the future, overcoming what are today the boundaries between home, mobility and energy.
Key points
- Byd shifts focus at Design Week 2026 to Vehicle-to-Load technology
- Byd Dolphin Surf integrates Blade Battery functionality
- Byd's Dolphin Surf turns into a power source
- V2L technology for Byd's entire range is a strategic choice
- Byd and Haier together for innovation and design in the home of the future
- Electric mobility becomes part of the domestic energy ecosystem
Byd returns to Design Week 2026 on the basis of technological innovation applied to electric mobility, participating as a partner of Haier in the Inside the Experience project. The initiative will transform Milan into an interconnected ecosystem in which design, technology and new forms of living are integrated in an increasingly immersive context. The heart of the installation is at 26 Via Bergognone. This is where you will find the Haier Hub, an environment designed to show how technology can dialogue with everyday life, crossing the boundaries between home, mobility and energy.
Byd shifts focus at Design Week 2026 to Vehicle-to-Load technology
At Design Week 2026, the focus is on one of the most concrete applications of electric mobility of the future: Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, which Byd is presenting through the DOLPHIN SURF based on the concept that electric mobility becomes an energy source. Inside the Haier Hub, the Dolphin Surf will demonstrate the potential of the V2L system live, powering one of Haier's iconic appliances. This is not just a technology exhibition, but a demonstration of how an electric car can become a source of energy for everyday life.
Byd Dolphin Surf integrates Blade Battery functionality
The Dolphin Surf is a 100% electric vehicle designed for prevalent use in urban mobility and consequently intended for everyday use in the city, as it combines rather small dimensions, an easy ride and also high energy efficiency. Built on Byd's e-Platform, it integrates the Blade Battery, one of the industry's most advanced technologies for safety, durability and performance. The battery has been subjected to extreme tests, including the well-known Nail Penetration Test, which demonstrated its high standard of safety even in critical conditions.
Byd's Dolphin Surf turns into a power source
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology is at the heart of the innovation presented by Byd at Design Week as it enables the Dolphin Surf by Byd to transform itself into an external power source. With a power output of up to around 3 kW, the system allows many more devices to be powered simultaneously, even those with high energy consumption, via an adapter connected directly to the vehicle's charging socket. The energy stored in the battery no longer serves only for propulsion, but is a versatile resource that also powers portable electronic devices.
V2L technology for the entire Byd range is a strategic choice
The feature opens up completely new scenarios for using the electric car, making it a true mobile energy platform. In addition to a new vision of mobility, the car becomes a de facto energy hub. The presence of V2L technology on the entire Byd range is an obvious strategic choice, as it extends the value of the electric car beyond mobility.
