Byd chose the Beijing Motor Show to unveil several models and as many technologies. Among the novelties is the Denza Z9GT, an intelligent luxury sedan belonging to the Z series, representing technology and excellence within the Denza family. The number 9 indicates the flagship model, while the suffix GT interprets the essence of the luxury Grand Tourer. With the arrival of the Z9GT, Denza expands its smart product range to become the first new energy luxury car brand in the world to offer a complete range of MPVs, SUVs and sedans, as well as being the second luxury brand in the world, on par with Mercedes-Benz, to cover all three market segments. Following Denza's strategy, after the launch in China, the Z9GT will also enter international markets, reintroducing Chinese luxury cars to the world and testifying to the new technological heights of the Made in China automobile.
The Seal 5 - a new body variant of the elegant Seal family - is a D-segment plug-in hybrid electric sedan. It utilises innovative super Dm (Dual- Mode) technology that prioritises electric driving for optimal energy efficiency, while ensuring high power and sporty performance. Thanks to optimised body design and advanced materials for acoustic insulation, Seal 5 boasts excellent Nvh (Noise Vibration Harshness) levels, with reduced noise levels that provide a sense of serenity for all occupants. The unique Byd Super Dm technology represents a radical evolution in intelligent Phev technology and offers several advantages in terms of energy efficiency. This 'world-first' technology integrates a highly efficient 1.5-litre engine, an innovative hybrid electric system and a specific, ultra-safe and durable Blade battery.
The Sea Lion 07 is the first 100% electric mid-size Suv in the D-segment that enhances the Ocean Aesthetics range of electric Sport Utility Vehicles. Designed under the guidance of Byd's Global Chief Designer Wolfgang Egger, the Sea Lion 7 is an evolution of the Ocean X concept car, featuring a dynamic, sleek body and the characteristic double beltline, X-shaped front end and integrated headlights that have become synonymous with Ocean Aesthetics. With its coupe-like SUV lines, the Sea Lion 7 embodies sporty elegance and the new era of electric mobility in every respect. The Sea Lion 7 goes beyond elegant aesthetics by benefiting from Byd's exceptional expertise in battery and powertrain development. The innovative Cyb (Cell-to-Body) technology, exclusively developed by Byd, integrates the body with the ultra-safe, cobalt-free Blade battery, ensuring superior levels of structural strength and torsional rigidity. The Sea Lion 7, built on the e-Platform 3.0, will be offered with rear or all-wheel drive and can comfortably accommodate five people. It also has a rear luggage compartment of 500 to 1,769 litres, offering a versatile and environmentally friendly solution for many different lifestyle needs, from daily commuting to family outings and long journeys.
Finally, Fangchengbao, Byd's new customised professional sub-brand and its sophisticated technology. The brand's name, derived from Chinese phonetics, symbolises a blend of precision ('Fangcheng' for 'formula') and agility ('Bao' for 'leopard'), introducing a number of specific technologies, such as the Dmo Super Hybrid Off-Road Platform. Fangchengbao anticipates that the confluence of new cutting-edge energy technologies and different user preferences will create an unprecedented user experience. The brand will integrate BYD's leading-edge technologies, future-oriented design ethos and vertically integrated manufacturing system to enrich each vehicle with distinctive bespoke possibilities. The innovative DMO Super Hybrid Off-Road platform, which powers Fangchengbao vehicles, offers cutting-edge technology that promises a transformative off-road driving experience while supporting energy efficiency.
The Dmo combines Byd's revolutionary non-load-bearing chassis designed for hybrid vehicles with a hybrid architecture specifically for off-road vehicles. This integration utilises Byd's expertise in high-performance chassis, intelligent electric four-wheel drive and off-road powertrains. As a result, the Dmo achieves an unrivalled balance between safety, power and energy consumption. Instead of modifying traditional components that add weight and increase rollover risks, the Dmo innovatively combines the Blade battery and high-strength steel chassis, evolving into Cell to Chassis (Ctc) technology.
