Byd extends the warranty of the famous Blade Battery to 8 years or 250,000 km

Byd, the world's leading Chinese brand of new energy vehicles, has announced a significant expansion of its warranty offer for its famous Blade Battery to 8 years or 250,000 km. The increase in covered mileage applies to all models, both electric and Super Hybrid, and also covers cars already on the road as well as new purchases.

The warranty also includes a minimum State of Health of 70%, confirming the Chinese manufacturer's focus on the durability of its batteries. All other covers remain unchanged: a six-year or 150,000 km basic warranty, twelve years of unlimited anti-corrosion and eight years or 150,000 km for the electric drive unit.

The Blade Battery, Byd's new energy vehicle technology solution, uses a lithium iron phosphate chemistry that eliminates materials such as nickel and cobalt. In internal tests, the battery passed 3,000 charge cycles, with a theoretical life equivalent to over 1.2 million kilometres.

Thanks to a blade design, each cell contributes to the structural rigidity of the vehicle, improving impact protection and enabling much more efficient packaging.

These are all solutions that guarantee high autonomy, such as the 570 km Wltp of the Byd Seal Design, and ultra-fast recharging, such as on the Sealion 7 Excellence Awd, capable of recharging from 30 to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes with DC charging up to 230 kW.
