Caddy’s (Dmo) joins the VéGé Group
The retail chain specialising in personal care and home care products has been part of the VéGé 2030 Project since 1 January
Caddy’s, a chain specialising in personal care, beauty, hygiene and household products and owned by Dmo, will join the Végé network on 1 January 2027, leaving the Drug Italia consortium. The agreement stems from the convergence of two complementary business visions: on the one hand, the VéGé Group’s commitment to building a broad, multi-channel network with strong local roots; on the other, Dmo’s desire to grow within a system capable of generating concrete plans, new synergies with the industry and greater competitive strength. Dmo’s accession to the VéGé Group takes place against the backdrop of an increasingly competitive market, in which strengthening alliances between companies represents a strategic lever for generating value, supporting innovation in product ranges and responding ever more effectively to changing consumer trends. For the VéGé Group, the addition of Caddy’s represents a further step in building a multi-channel, multi-format network, which now encompasses 32 principal companies, 3,590 outlets across the country and a turnover that reached 16.2 billion euros in 2025. Dmo brings to the joint venture not only a 2025 turnover exceeding 300 million euros, but also the extensive experience of one of Italy’s leading drugstore chains, underpinned by a growth model based on strong local roots and business continuity.
“Joining the VéGé Group represents an important step for us, one that is consistent with the growth trajectory we have been pursuing for years,” say Fabio and Annalisa Celeghin, chairman and vice-chairwoman of Dmo. “ “We believe in the value of mergers and acquisitions when they are capable of generating concrete plans, an industrial vision and new opportunities for businesses, the industry and consumers. Dmo enters this new phase with its own identity, its own history and the desire to contribute to the development of an increasingly strong and competitive drugstore model.” Dmo, Dettaglio moderno organizzato, is an Italian group based in Pernumia, in the province of Padua, specialising in the distribution of personal care, beauty, hygiene and household products.
“This agreement confirms that Gruppo VéGé is growing not only in terms of numbers, but also in terms of the quality of the partnerships it forges. Dmo is a family-run group with solid values and a recognisable brand. The partnership between the VéGé Group and Dmo represents a concrete and structured response: two Italian organisations choosing to grow together, pooling their expertise, networks and industrial vision to build a stronger and more competitive drugstore sector,” said Giovanni Arena, Chairman of the VéGé Group. “The ambitious VéGé 2030 Project – which is not merely about reaching the €20 billion milestone, but above all about building an increasingly cohesive, solid and high-quality Group – is, step by step, becoming a reality.”
“Caddy’s joining the VéGé Group confirms the central importance we attach to the chemist’s channel at a time of profound change in consumer behaviour. Personal care, beauty, hygiene, oral care, home and everyday wellbeing are categories of increasing importance to Italian households and require distribution models capable of combining specialisation, local presence, innovation and service. Dmo is a solid company, with a long history and a clear entrepreneurial vision. Together, we aim to build a strong, modern and competitive drugstore group, capable of generating new synergies with the industry and becoming a benchmark in the Italian market,” comments Giorgio Santambrogio, Chief Executive of the VéGé Group.
In recent years, Caddy’s has embarked on a process of evolving its retail format, focusing on more modern shops, more contemporary product ranges and an offering that is increasingly less reliant on promotional incentives alone. The new positioning is aimed at consumers seeking value for money, but also quality, a wide product range, expert advice and a relevant offering. “Our aim is to continue growing Caddy’s as a modern, recognisable brand that is increasingly attuned to consumers’ needs,” adds François Xavier Tah, commercial director at Dmo. “Joining the VéGé Group allows us to operate within a broader context, with new opportunities for collaboration and development. We want to play an active role in a project capable of strengthening the drugstore sector in Italia, by leveraging expertise, innovation, relationships with the industry and the ability to interpret changing consumer trends.”
