Football, Napoli v Bologna 2-0: the Azzurri win the Super Cup
Neres' double, third Super Cup after 1990 and 2014
Napoli took the Super Cup with the calmness of the strong and the precision of those who know where to strike. At the "campetto" of Al-Awwal Park, the Azzurri beat Bologna 2-0 and closed the file with one goal per half, both signed by David Neres, the man who switched on and off the final. It was a one-sided game for long stretches, ruled by Napoli and never really challenged by the red and blue. It is the third Super Cup won by Napoli after 1990 and 2014. A double in 2025 for Conte after the Scudetto in May.
Ravaglia held out as long as he could, denying McTominay and Spinazzola the advantage, but in the 37th minute he had to surrender to Neres' left-footed volley, which caught the second post and broke the balance. It was the reward for a clear superiority, built on side chains and tidy dribbling, always accompanied by aggression without the ball.
In the second half the script did not change. Bologna tried to come back with Ferguson and Castro, but Napoli upped the tempo and sealed the victory in the 57th minute: Ravaglia's mistake on the way out, Neres was brilliant in the touch underneath to double the score. Conte managed, rotated his men and even allowed himself the luxury of academy; Politano wasted the possible 3-0, but it was a detail in a night that was never in question.
Italiano changed, inserted Immobile and new energy, but the inertia remained Azzurri. Napoli controlled, administered, accompanied the clock until the 90th minute. At the triple whistle it was celebration: Super Cup raised, a recognisable identity and a clear message. With Conte on the bench and Neres as an arrow, Napoli have found their rhythm. And, at least in Riyadh, also its certainty.
