Campania: the regional government gives the go-ahead for funding for 20 ‘supply chain academies’
Programmes funded with a grant of 32 million from the 2021–2027 ESF Operational Programme: training is designed on the basis of the skills required by businesses
The Campania Region is funding the first 20 ‘supply chain academies’, a new model that aims to bring training and work ever closer together, developing skills in line with the professional requirements of the regional production sector.
With a total budget of 32 million euros from the Campania ESF+ Regional Programme 2021–2027, and following the approval of the shortlists for the Campania Academy Industria public call (CAI) – ‘Training for Work’, support is now being rolled out for programmes aimed both at the upskilling and specialisation of currently employed workers and at the training of those not in employment or who are unemployed, with courses designed to facilitate their integration into businesses within the relevant sectors.
The Academies will focus on sectors that are strategic for the Campania region’s economy: agri-food, construction, the green economy, ICT, mechatronics, healthcare, textiles, clothing and footwear, transport and tourism.
The initiative aims to develop training programmes based on the actual needs of the labour market, tailoring courses to the skills that are actually in demand. The aim is to strengthen the competitiveness of businesses, improve the quality of work and foster the creation of genuine skills hubs serving the various production sectors.
“With the first 20 Academies, we are taking an important step towards a training system that is increasingly tailored to the needs of the labour market and the development of Campania,” says Angelica Saggese, Regional Councillor for Employment and Training. This is why we want to invest in training that offers a tangible future: to provide people with greater opportunities for employment and professional development and, at the same time, to equip businesses with the skills needed to support growth, innovation and competitiveness. Training is a crucial tool when it leads to employment, quality jobs and local development.”
