Tariffs: Carney says new tariffs against the US will come into force on 8 September

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Canada will introduce new tariffs against the United States from 8 September, in response to the entry into force of US tariffs. This was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during a press conference. The measures will affect, amongst other things, American steel and dairy products. “In the coming days we will announce the details of these new tariff measures, which will come into force on the Tuesday following Labour Day,” he said. “It is a measure we are taking reluctantly because we are aware that some US states are bearing the brunt” of this dispute, Carney added.
