Conference with Casapound, the Chamber cancels due to public order
A group of deputies from the PD, M5s and Avs occupied the press room of the Chamber where the press conference on remigration was scheduled to take place at 11.30 a.m
Key points
Press room occupied by opposition MPs, Constitution in hand. And a press conference cancelled for reasons of public order by the presidency of Montecitorio. This is the outcome of a convulsive morning when a press conference was scheduled in the Chamber to present a popular initiative bill on remigration with Casapound spokesman Luca Marsella, Ivan Sogari of Veneto Fronte Skinheads, Jacopo Massetti, former Forza Nuova member, and Salvatore Ferrara of the Patriots' Network. An initiative made possible by the fact that the press room was booked by the Leghist deputy Domenico Furgiuele, close to General Roberto Vannacci (who 'blessed' the event). Already yesterday, the oppositions had made it clear that they would obstruct the initiative to 'prevent Nazis from entering the palace'. And Chamber of Deputies Speaker Lorenzo Fontana had invited Furgiuele, in vain, to desist from the initiative, deemed 'inappropriate'
Opposition occupy House press room
Among the opposition deputies who 'occupied' the press room of the Chamber are for the M5s the group leader Riccardo Ricciardi and Francesco Silvestri. Gianni Cuperlo, Laura Boldrini, Arturo Scotto, Marco Sarracino, Matteo Orfini and Senator Filippo Sensi for the PD and MPs Filiberto Zaratti, Angelo Bonelli and Nicola Fratoianni for Avs.
Furgiuele invites remigration committee but Chamber closed to guests
The members of the Remigration and Reconquest Committee did not even enter the Chamber through the side entrance by order of Montecitorio. There, League deputy Domenico Furgiuele wanted to let them in as his guests. A Chamber official informed those present that 'by decision of the President of the Chamber, for reasons of public order' MPs could not allow guests in today. 'We will return to Parliament with hundreds of thousands of signatures for our remigration bill' announced Luca Marsella of Casapound
Lega: left cannot restrict freedom of speech and thought
Furgiuele, who announced that he would try again to organise the press conference at the Chamber, stated that 'Matteo Salvini was aware that I was taking this initiative and he will certainly not dissociate himself'. In a note, the League denounced that 'freedom of speech and thought is guaranteed by law and cannot be in any way limited by a violent and arrogant Left that even occupies institutional seats like any Askatasuna' and further: 'The issues of security, the protection of the police and the fight against illegal immigration are priorities and it is legitimate to discuss them in all fora: for this reason
Vannacci: good Furgiuele, thanks to Trump ended times left decides everything
Furgiuele's initiative was endorsed by General Vannacci, also in odour of splitting from the League. 'I am an MEP and I am in Brussels working. In any case, that promoted by Mr Furgiuele is an activity worthy of applause: opening the doors of our house of democracy to those who democratically have legislative proposals to make,' the MEP and deputy secretary of the League told Lapresse, adding: 'They are not demonstrators who smash, set fire to, destroy and devastate, nor squatters of private spaces, nor madmen who block traffic or public services. They are just citizens who want to be civilly heard by those who represent them. But the Left has the vice of wanting to decide who can and cannot speak. Thanks also to Trump, those days are over."
