Mario Venditti will resign from his role as president and board member of the Campione d'Italia Casino. The former Pavia prosecutor - who will retire in July 2023 - will leave his post after being included in the register of suspects by the Brescia Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of corruption in judicial acts in the Garlasco case.
In particular, according to the prosecution, Venditti allegedly received money to exonerate Andrea Sempio, a friend of Chiara Poggi's brother, who was killed in the summer of 2007. A possible involvement, denied by the magistrate, which led to the request by the mayor of Campione d'Italia to 'take a step back'.
Thus, after less than two days, came the confirmation from the gambling house, 'informally informed' of Venditti's intentions, highlighting his 'total extraneousness'.
