Minetti case, RAI: warning letter to Ranucci for words on TV about Nordio
The Carabinieri, on a warrant from the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office, will hear specialists from the hospitals that allegedly examined the minor
Key points
Investigations continue into the Minetti case, which broke out after the Quirinale's letter to the Ministry of Justice regarding the pardon granted last February. Involved, first and foremost, is the public prosecutor's office of the Milan Court of Appeal, which gave a favourable opinion for Nicole Minetti's clemency. The judiciary has also activated the international police - Interpol - for investigations in Uruguay. Everything, to 'go all the way'.
Prosecutor: 'First time something like this has happened to me'
This was said by the Deputy Attorney General of Milan, Gaetano Brusa, who immediately expressed his opinion on the matter. Now, the soon-to-be-retired magistrate explains that it is 'necessary to check everything'. And also that it is 'the first time something like this has happened to me in 40 years of work and I don't want to think that I have been taken for a ride, nor do I want to be told that I have made incomplete investigations'.
However, the magistrate says he is ready to 'change my opinion overnight'. There are two aspects to be clarified: 'I want to go all the way, with the limit of the pardon procedure', i.e. the 'humanitarian theme' linked to the adoption and care of the sick child and 'the personality of Minetti'.
The investigation
How to proceed? One 'trail' followed by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office is linked to the hospitals that allegedly visited the child. The carabinieri will hear the two specialists, one from San Raffaele and one from the hospital in Padua, who were asked by Nicole Minetti for an opinion on the adopted child's health situation. Both centres have already made it known that there was no reference to the child in their databases.
Then, on the adoption procedure in Uruguay - of which they intend to acquire the original documents to understand whether it was regular or not - at the moment, according to the papers filed by Minetti's lawyers, it does not appear to show any anomalies.
