In a statement, SAC, the airport’s operating company, announced that it had ordered the closure of the areas corresponding to sectors C1 and B3 “due to the emission of volcanic ash into the atmosphere and the current direction of the prevailing winds”. Consequently,

"All incoming and outgoing flights have been suspended until 12.00 local time tomorrow, Sunday 27 September".
