Universities: 50 short courses at the Catholic University as part of the ‘Summer School’ programme
The programme is designed for students and professionals, but also for anyone wishing to make the most of the summer to broaden their cultural horizons. From literature to economics, from psychology to international relations: between June and September, there is a wide range of courses on offer covering a variety of disciplines
Over 50 courses – either residential or online – designed to develop skills, expand professional networks and offer a new and engaging learning experience. This is what the Summer School at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore has to offer. The programme is aimed at students and professionals, but also at anyone wishing to make the most of the summer to broaden their cultural horizons. From literature to economics, from psychology to international relations: between June and September, there is a vast array of courses on offer covering a wide range of disciplines. Take, for example, the School of Dante Studies, which has become an international benchmark for studies on the great poet, or the 14 editions of the School of Manzoni Studies, which each year presents the latest research on the great writer. There is also no shortage of courses linked to current affairs, such as the Summer School in Managing International Relations, which offers the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the global economic and political order.
“Unique on the national scene”
“The Catholic University’s Summer Schools are unique on the national scene. They are aimed at students, lecturers and researchers, but also at managers, professionals and anyone interested in gaining knowledge on the most topical issues, with a different focus each year,” notes Roberto Brambilla, Director of Postgraduate Education and Research Partnerships at the University. “For example, the topics range from the use of intelligence models for understanding and communicating information on international scenarios, to legal aspects in the field of art and cultural heritage, to the unmissable opportunity to engage with the greats of literature, Dante and Manzoni – summer schools that serve as a point of reference for scholars and enthusiasts of the Italian language and culture from all over the world – right through to environmental and social issues.”
Courses also available online
For those who are travelling or wish to use their free time to learn in line with their specific needs and requirements, there is some great news this year. “We offer the opportunity to create a ‘Learning Path’ on the Online Learning platform – programmes that combine several short, asynchronous courses to explore various fields, from soft skills to psychology, from artificial intelligence to management – and to obtain, as with the rest of our training programme, the digital Open Badge, which makes the skills you’ve acquired immediately recognisable in an increasingly global labour market – a tool recognised and adopted by thousands of organisations worldwide.”
