Key points
A Cabinet meeting is set to include an infrastructure decree on its agenda. At the meeting – which, according to reports, is scheduled for Monday 22 June at 5.00 pm – a measure concerning railway works is expected to be examined.
Extensions to the expropriations along the Rome–Latina line
In particular, according to a report by the Ansa news agency, although the content is still being finalised, the dossier contains provisions on Intercity trains, the extension of land expropriations along the Rome–Latina line, and the compensatory works for the high-speed rail link.
Between Rome and Latina, the NRRP is funding the doubling of the Campoleone–Aprilia section on the FL8 Rome–Nettuno line. These works will be carried out on an existing section, and land acquisition procedures are planned in the areas adjacent to the current tracks.
The compensatory works for the TAV
The compensatory works in the areas crossed by the high-speed rail line comprise 32 projects in 11 municipalities, with a total value of around 50 million euros. The decree-law is expected to provide for the first tranche of funding. According to a recent statement by Calogero Mauceri, chairman of the Turin–Lyon Railway Corridor Observatory, the initial funding is expected to amount to 15 million.
