The Italian Episcopal Conference and Generali Italia have signed an agreement for the protection of parish bodies in Italy's 226 dioceses. Thanks to the agreement, the more than 25,000 parishes will benefit from rapid and dedicated services in the event of claims from natural disasters - earthquakes, floods and heavy rainfall, underlines a company note.
"We are grateful to Generali for its willingness to structure, together with the Italian Bishops' Conference, a virtuous model of collaboration in favour of parishes," commented Card. Matteo Zuppi, Archbishop of Bologna and President of the Italian Bishops' Conference. "In recent years, several buildings of worship, pastoral ministry premises and canonical houses have been put to the test by catastrophic events. Preserving our heritage is close to our hearts, despite the great difficulties and scarcity of available resources, because it is for everyone, it is our roots. The agreement signed is intended to be an effective response to the needs of our communities. Buildings are not just structures, they represent our history and we want them to be our future too. From this perspective, the agreement with Generali represents an important contribution for the common good'.
The solution, structured in a parametric form, introduces innovative upfront guarantees that are automatically activated without the need for appraisals of buildings, parish structures, or certifications of technicians and liquidators. Through the integration of environmental data, advanced digital technologies and predictive models, it offers a fast and efficient activation mechanism that ensures sustainability, transparency and immediate protection for church community assets.
"This agreement with a major institution such as the Italian Bishops' Conference, made possible also thanks to the characteristics and specific skills of our Business Unit Enti Religiosi e Terzo Settore, allows us to put our wealth of experience, skills and values at the disposal of the Country System, in order to respond with innovative tools to the great environmental and social transformations taking place", underlined Giancarlo Fancel, Country Manager and CEO of Generali Italia.
