Changing life is not a leap into the void but a journey within oneself

In his book, Roesler Franz offers a lucid and intense account of how he learnt to manage the freedom he chose by taking one step at a time. He learnt to embrace loneliness, to manage it and make it a strength, he realised he preferred silence to chatter that did not interest him, he decided to follow his inner voice, the truest one, turning mishaps and difficult moments into life lessons every day, determined to remain free and follow his choice.

And this is how he has been able to deal with the renunciations, the abandonments, to welcome the fortuitous and unexpected encounters, to enjoy the slowness and patience that his new life teaches him every day. He has the awareness and wisdom of a man who has lived a long time, perhaps because the transition from one life to another has been long and thoughtful. He has listened to the first signs, savoured small sips of his possible future life, experienced the risks, considered all aspects, organised the transition in small steps, asked himself questions.

And his honest answer was 'yes, I want to change my life', he felt he owed it to himself out of respect for a family that gave him the opportunity to study and create a career and a first life that he called 'solid'. Without that imprinting and without the money set aside he simply could not have given himself the van, his new home, and his freedom. And he knows it.

In Lascio tutto e riparto da me, the journey towards himself, Manfredi Roesler Franz retraces the stages of his life to date, the uncertainties, the disillusions, the risks and then the choices, the discoveries that have become experience for the construction of a future of conscious freedom. The kite surfing accident in Cape Verde in the open sea, the solo fall on the ice of the northern Grigna, the death of the paraglider who crashed before his eyes, the misadventures of the trips, Sardinia and Sicily, Croatia, Spain and then northern Europe. Each of these moments was for the author an answer to his doubts.

The last lines of the book 'if you want something, the time is now, don't put it off by waiting for the right moment because that is just the excuse we give ourselves to stall for time. There is only one time to be happy, and that is now'. are a simple invitation but a great challenge for those who seek a possible way to happiness.
