The Chery Tiggo 9 is set to make its debut in Italia
Flagship interior, 7 seats, 4x4, plug-in powertrain, 428 cv and a range of 1,050 km. This is the package that comes with the Chinese brand’s maxi SUV, which goes on sale in Italia from November at a list price that could start at less than 50,000 euros.
It’s called the Chery Tiggo 9 and is the Chinese brand’s new large SUV, which will go on sale in Italia. With its impressive dimensions – it is 4.81 metres long – it presents itself as a true flagship SUV, not least thanks to its design, which ensures ample space on board for a model aimed at extended families, given its seven seats as standard.It also features a boot with a base capacity of 200 litres when all passengers are on board, which increases to 738 litres when travelling with five passengers.
A flagship interior with attention to every detail
Inside, it feels as though you’re in a car from a higher class. Great care has been taken with the materials: the upholstery is made of nappa leather, not faux leather, and the surfaces differ in the texture you can feel to the touch. Comfort was a key focus of the design, particularly for the front passenger, who benefits from flexible seat adjustment, whilst the other seats feature heating, ventilation and massage functions. The driver’s headrest also incorporates two speakers for hands-free calls.

The dashboard and centre console feature physical controls, including a keypad and a rotary selector for managing drive modes, underlining the high perceived quality of the overall finish. The specification is rounded off by over 30 storage compartments and an armrest
Refrigerated and heated to maintain the temperature of drinks on board. Furthermore, in terms of noise insulation, the new Tiggo 9 combines sound-absorbing laminated glass with active noise cancellation, achieved through 14 body seals. The audio system is a Sony system with 14 speakers.
Plug-in hybrid powertrain with sports car performance
Under the bonnet, the Tiggo 9 features Chery’s super hybrid plug-in powertrain, which combines an internal combustion engine with an electrified drivetrain to deliver a total of 428 cv and 580 Nm of torque. It has sports car-like acceleration, reaching 0–100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, whilst the top speed is limited to 180 km/h. The on-board battery provides a range of around 90 km in electric mode – more than enough to cover day-to-day journeys with zero emissions. The total range is over 1,050 km.
