After the debuts of the Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 8, the Chinese giant Chery is preparing to launch a third suv in Europe: the Jaecoo 6. Still an SUV, but electric and credited with compact dimensions: it is, in fact, 4.40 metres long and 1.71 metres high, with generous roominess thanks to its 2.71 metre wheelbase. All this is combined with distinctive styling, a high-tech interior and a state-of-the-art platform.
Distinctive style and plenty of space on board
.The front features LED light clusters in the form of vertical strips that form the basis of a rather original design, while the cabin follows the same squared-off style as the exterior with a horizontal dashboard and sharp shapes. The materials are of a high quality and are complemented by a level of technology, such as the 15.6-inch infotainment display that is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor.
The on-board technological equipment is of a high standard
.A second 10.25-inch screen is housed behind the steering wheel as an instrument cluster. There is no shortage of space on board the Jaecoo 6, especially for passengers in the second row of seats. The new SUV uses, as mentioned, an electric powertrain with two motors, one per axle. The front one delivers 95 hp and 165 Nm, while the rear offers 184 hp and 220 Nm for a total power output of 279 hp and 365 Nm.
The claimed range is approximately 470 km
.The propulsion configuration allows the Jaecoo 6 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, while a single 69.8 kWh battery powers the two motors for a range of 470 km. The accomulator can be recharged from 30 to 80 per cent in half an hour. Thanks to its height of 17 centimetres, the SUV is also able to offer important performance in offraod, thanks to its all-wheel drive.
40% higher torsional stiffness
.The aluminium structure of the new Jaecoo 6 guarantees 40% more torsional rigidity than conventional frames. In addition to offering large areas of programmed deformation shock absorption. The use of aluminium has also made it possible to keep the weight of the car down to a maximum of 1,892 kg, despite the fact that the battery pack available is one of those offering great capacity.
