Fiera del Levante also played its part during the G7. It was not only the venue of the Media Centre with hundreds of technological stations and almost 1,500 journalists and media operators from all over the world, but also a special showcase that baptised the 'Community of the Apulian rural economy towards certified sustainability'.

Having passed a call for tenders issued by Palazzo Chigi on Italian excellence, this community, through the universal language of food, presented itself to the foreign press with a cooking show, set up with the products of the supply chain provided by the community's 8 agricultural and agri-food companies (oil, wine, pasta, catering). The cooking show attracted the interest of the media (Chinese, Arab, Turkish, Japanese, Canadian, English TV as well as Italian and Apulian TV). The Community made the world aware of the innovation that characterises a region open to the future that preserves traditions and production. The Community of entrepreneurs from Bari and Bat took the opportunity to offer an example of certified sustainability: in fact, from 2025 the EU will require large companies to have sustainability certification and small companies, if they want to sell to large ones, will have to adapt.
