Christine Lagarde and Andrea Ceccherini join forces to discuss the future with young people

On the other hand, in Milan itself, the same organisation had brought together – as recently as June last year – the governors of the central banks of Italia, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Portugal – all of whom are also members of the Advisory Board of the Osservatorio for Independent Thinking – to officially announce the launch of a pan-European project aimed at raising students’ economic and financial literacy: “Young Factor Europe”.

Now that this project has truly taken shape at European level, it has – not coincidentally – also become the arena and platform for discussion that will host the Milan event for dialogue with young people.

“Here at Osservatorio for independent thinking, we want to keep young people engaged in the discussions that matter and offer them the opportunity to get to the heart of the issues that are revolutionising our times, by engaging in dialogue on an equal footing with the leading figures in the field, so as to equip them to become ever more active agents of change,” said Andrea Ceccherini – “To this end, we are working with tens of thousands of European teachers to help foster critical thinking and financial literacy in the younger generation, enabling them to gain a deep understanding of current events and to defend themselves ever more effectively against the increasingly pervasive attempts at manipulation and propaganda.”
