Ciappter Ileven in concert for injured children in Crans Montana
The charity initiative in support of the children injured in the New Year's Eve massacre on Monday 4 May at the Elfo Puccini Theatre in Milan
Turning laughter and irony into an opportunity for charity. This time mobilising for the young people injured in the New Year's Eve tragedy at Crans Montana, where six young Italians lost their lives, 34 others from other countries died, and over a hundred were injured, some in serious condition and still hospitalised. To raise funds for the young people who are still undergoing lengthy treatment, the Ciappter Ileven, a musical group that has stood out for years for its charity initiatives and is characterised by a humorous way of doing song theatre, all focused on the world of economics, will take the stage at the Elfo Puccini Theatre in Milan.
Monday 4 May at the hall in Corso Buenos Aires 33 will be staged 'Singing, better than working', a charity event and crowdfunding support launched by the Institute Council of the Liceo Virgilio in Milan (https://www.gofundme.com/f/sostegno-per-gli-studenti-feriti-liceo-virgilio). An initiative triggered by the participation of the general public in the tragedy that has plunged the families of the four young people who lost their lives, as well as those injured, into suffering, with the tail end of the controversy surrounding the judicial enquiry by the Swiss authorities. Not to mention the demands for payment of medical expenses made by Swiss hospitals.
The show, scheduled at h21 (here are the tickets), features the new songs and historical hits of Ciappter Ileven, a self-described group of 'economic-tributary pop, with veins of labour law', who since 2010 have been presenting the public with songs dealing with the various facets of the economy: from taxation to social media, from technology to welfare, from work to financial scams, Ciappter Ileven offer an original and entertaining take on the issues of everyday economic life, offering a sideways and original point of view to entertain and reflect. In full continuity with the Milanese tradition between the last century and the present, from Gaber and Jannacci to Elio e le Storie Tese, passing by Walter Valdi, Nanni Svampa, Roberto Brivio and the Gufi. L'Algoritmo, La grande ambision, Il Consulente, Il Primitivo (inspired by Donald Trump) up to the ever-present Serpente Corallo, which also gives its name to an original podcast of Radio24 (the radio station of the Il Sole 24 Ore Group) foreshadow the tone of the show.
The founding nucleus of Ciappter Ileven is a trio of journalists from Il Sole 24 Ore, Stefano Elli, Marco lo Conte and Mauro Meazza, who have been joined for years by four professional musicians: Marco Angeloni, Filippo Bentivoglio, Mattia Bertani and Alessandro 'Poto' Esposti. Who warn event participants: 'Investing in an evening with Ciappter Ileven can cause sudden peaks of joy. Past returns do not guarantee equal laughter in the future... but we try!". Transparent and helpful laughter to support the young people and their families who are still coping with the consequences of the Swiss nightclub fire.
