In the heart of Cilento, the 'Dorsale Borghi BSB' project, promoted by Scabec with Ascea as lead partner, transforms the inland villages of Cilento into lively tourist destinations, involving Omignano, Lustra, Salento, Castelnuovo Cilento, Giungano, Ogliastro Cilento, Perdifumo, Cicerale, Laureana Cilento, Prignano Cilento, Rutino and Torchiara. The aim is to enhance the local heritage with sustainable and modern tourist itineraries, focusing on 'slow' tourism.
In addition to this, with Pollica as lead agency, joined by the villages of Castellabate, Montecorice, San Mauro Cilento, Serramezzana, Sessa Cilento, Stella Cilento, Bellosguardo, Corleto Monforte and Sant'Angelo a Fasanella, another project consistent with the same objectives envisages several strategic steps the valorisation of the built heritage to create hospitality opportunities such as cohousing for smartworkers and the qualification of the food and wine offer to promote the 'Cilento style' with high quality tourist and restaurant services. Innovative programmes such as "Mediterranean Living" and "Mediterranean Mind Lab" promote wellness through connection with nature. Partnerships such as the Mediterranean Mind Lab and the 'Peter DAN' programme emphasise the integrated holistic approach.
It is an integrated approach that sees all these projects linked: the 'Lands of the Mediterranean Diet: Villages of Health and Well-Being' programme, which promotes sustainable gastronomy and longevity, is always inspired by the nomination of Pollica as a UNESCO Emblematic Community, to regenerate the territory, countering depopulation and enhancing the cultural and natural heritage.
The 'Lands of the Mediterranean Diet Walk' integrates territories, promoting quality tourism that stimulates local economic development and deseasonalisation. The 'Lands of the Mediterranean Diet' digital platform offers an inclusive tourism experience. The 'People, Products, Places' initiative connects visitors with Cilento's rich heritage, strengthening its identity and economy.
The project includes online platforms such as the 'Art Passport', which encourages cultural participation and strengthens residents' emotional connection to heritage.
