Content creators, video editors, cost controllers are some of the most sought-after professionals in the Cinema and Audiovisual system. On the eve of the Venice Film Festival, Assolavoro Datalab, the Observatory of the National Association of Employment Agencies, raises the curtain on the behind-the-scenes activities that we are not so accustomed to seeing at major film festivals, given their role as an international showcase especially for authors, producers, talent and actors. In reality, they are also a networking and development hub for a labour market where over 240,000 new hires have been planned for this year.
The advance of new technologies
.The new technologies that are increasingly influencing productions as well as viewers' choices have generated a concentration of demand especially in the ICT sector more closely related to the TV and film industry: in related technical services alone a demand of 15 thousand profiles is expected on an annual basis. The demand for figures in the technical and creative area of video and film production is high and not only for cinema, but also for the TV on demand sector, an area that the development of digital platforms has been growing for several years.
The most in-demand figures
.Assolavoro Datalab's Observatory shows how strong the impact of Ai will be on the sector: audiovisual entertainment will become increasingly immersive, creative and customised, and thanks to Ai, content will be adapted in real time to the choices of users, who will directly influence the development of stories. Human creativity will remain central, however, adopting artificial intelligence more as a 'co-pilot', a helper able to automate technical tasks, leaving room for the human for the strategic, ethical and emotional direction of the creative process. Also for this reason, beyond the technical area, among the most in-demand figures, according to Assolavoro Datalab, are content creators, video editors, motion designers, video journalists and technicians for the digital distribution of film content. Showrunners are required to write but also supervise the script, define style, tone and narrative structure, ensuring coherence and a unified vision for the product, from writing to post-production. Alongside the creative area, in the video and film industry, there is a growing demand for production management, strategy and support professionals. These include the development producer, a key figure in the supervision of the entire production process who ensures adherence to schedules and budgets, as well as the cost controller, who monitors expenses and also accesses public incentives.
The Data Specialists
.In a world where television viewers are very much influenced by technology in their choices, film and TV productions are also much more attentive to data monitoring than in the past. Among the figures who play a crucial role, one is the data digital analytics manager, who provides guidance for data-driven production and broadcasting. Another much sought-after figure is the marketing specialist, who intervenes in positioning strategies, and the production assistant, whose role is central in ensuring the operational efficiency of the set.
