Clinique La Prairie launches a longevity fund
In 100 years, science and its progress have extended the average life span by more than 30 years. Longevity is today a very topical issue with a strategic impact on health but also on the economy. The health economy is estimated to be worth $5.6 trillion (as of 2022, source Global Wellness Summit, 2024). By 2050, the world population over 60 is expected to reach 2.1 billion, profoundly transforming economies, workforces and social systems. This is why Clinique La Prairie has announced the launch of a Longevity Fund, an initiative aimed at identifying and investing in companies that revolutionise the landscape of ageing, health and wellness. This is the first European fund focused on investing in innovative technologies and solutions to improve the quality and length of life. The Longevity Fund aims to invest in minority stakes in early stage or B round companies with a strong possibility of revaluation within 9 to 12 months and exit opportunities after 3 to 5 years.
'The science of longevity is now a worldwide trend,' says Simone Gibertoni, CEO of Clinique La Prairie. We have been pioneers in this field for over 90 years and can boast almost a century of expertise, research and continuous innovation. This fund marks a new milestone for the Clinique La Prairie ecosystem, demonstrating our commitment to advancing the frontier of longevity. We want the fund to be seen as an epicentre for all future projects and new scientific discoveries".
A fund built on four pillars
From the perspective of the target companies, the focus is on four key areas, reflecting the founding pillars of Clinique La Prairie's philosophy: medical, nutrition, exercise and wellness. The medical pillar covers precision diagnostic technologies and innovations and advanced preventive therapies; the nutrition pillar focuses on advanced research, functional food and neuro-nutrition to support body and mind. Movement offers customised solutions to improve metabolism, flexibility and reduce inflammation through targeted exercise while wellness focuses on technologies and digital tools that support stress management, sleep, cognitive and mental health or emotional well-being. To lead this initiative, Clinique La Prairie has partnered with Stefan Catsicas, an expert in biotechnology and scientific research. With a background as executive director of Nestlé and director of the Institute of Cell Biology at the Lausanne Medical School, Catsicas will co-chair the investment committee with Gibertoni. The project will be supported by a scientific advisory board composed of academic leaders, physicians and life science experts. Specifically since November 2025, the Longevity Fund has welcomed Max Gottschalk as a partner in its management team. Gottschalk has more than 30 years of experience in venture capital and private equity and will work on the international development of the fund.
