Club del Sole acquires an open-air village along the Costa degli Etruschi
Giondi: 'We want to intercept international demand and valorise high-potential territories'

Le Gorette Cecina Easy Camping Village, an open-air facility along the Etruscan Coast in Tuscany, changes hands and joins Club del Sole. The village has a total of almost 600 units including camping pitches, flats, bungalows and lodges, has a capacity of about 2,500 beds and offers an integrated system of services, including a water park, mini-club, entertainment, sports facilities and catering, designed for an increasingly international and family-oriented clientele, with attention also paid to the pet-friendly segment. In the Club del Sole catalogue, Le Gorette becomes part of the Easy Camping Village line, one of the four offered by Club del Sole with its own portfolio. The others are Family Collection, Family Resort and Boutique Resort. Each has its own peculiarities and offers different holiday experiences united by the "full life holidays" concept. the result is a mix of hospitality that combines comfort and nature in a balance between freedom and quality of stay, more comfortable than a campsite and freer than a hotel. Within this system, the Easy Camping Village formula represents the most authentic dimension of the open-air holiday, strong in its contact with nature, enhancing the naturalness of the experience while maintaining a level of services consistent with the Club del Sole model. Precisely in order to bring the structure's standards in line with its own, the company has begun a series of initial interventions on the structure, a first phase to strengthen its positioning and raise its standards.
"This acquisition represents an important step in our growth path," explains Francesco Giondi, managing director of Club del Sole. With the entry on the Etruscan Coast we complete our presence along the entire Tuscan coastline with the highest tourist appeal, from Orbetello and Monte Argentario to Castiglione della Pescaia and Versilia with Viareggio. A positioning that significantly strengthens our ability to intercept international demand and to enhance territories with high potential". With this acquisition Club del Sole is present with 29 villages between those owned and managed with the aim of reaching 170 million revenues by 2028 against 130 last year.
The company was founded in 1974 by the Giondi family and, lustre after lustre, has become a leader in open-air hospitality in Italia through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. All to offer a unique format of holidays offering comfort and nature together for the first time. In May 2024, NB Aurora, a permanent capital vehicle listed on the Euronext MIV Milan segment, and The Equity Club, a club deal initiative promoted by Mediobanca together with Roberto Ferraresi and Filippo Penatti, entered the share capital of Club del Sole as minority shareholders. The operation entailed a significant capital increase, destined to support the further growth of the Company, in which the Giondi family continues to hold the majority share and of which it continues to guide the strategic development and industrial project.
In March, with a "Sale & operating lease back" operation, Club del Sole sold the real estate part of 5 open air resorts in Emilia Romagna to the fund Swiss Life Asset Managers France. The resorts are 4-star, have more than 2,800 accommodation facilities including glamping and mobile homes with an offer of over 11,000 beds and will continue to be managed by Club del Sole for many years. With the new financial resources at its disposal, the company aims to focus on the management of the villages (see Il Sole 24 Ore of 13 February 2026 ndr ), with the redevelopment of assets, the integration of new structures and the development of scalable operating models. After the pandemic, Swiss Life launched the 'Plein Air Invest' fund, one of whose objectives is the evolution of campsites into glamping by targeting the premium market segment. It then began shopping for facilities in France and Spain including 'Les vallons de l'océan' in La Plaine-sur-Mer in France and, in October 2025, four facilities in Spain from Alannia Resorts. In Europe there are three key destinations for open-air holidays: Spain, Italia and France. So it was a natural step for Swiss File to enter the open-air segment in the Peninsula.
